Why a refresher

Basic training prepares you for trauma with a shape: an incident, a worst moment, a clear target. Then real caseloads arrive. Clients with no single event to point to. Clients who dissociate, or feel nothing, or intellectualize every set. Clients whose wound is what did not happen.

This is a full refresher for trained EMDR clinicians. We tighten the fundamentals in the morning, and in the afternoon we go straight at the cases that make new and experienced clinicians alike quietly shelve their EMDR.

Hi, I'm Cassidy DuHadway, a therapist who practices EMDR. I train EMDR clinicians, and complex trauma and emotional neglect are the terrain I teach and present on, including at EMDRIA.

I am an EMDRIA Approved Trainer and Certified Consultant, and I'll be teaching the majority of the day, with Storie Stinger, LCSW, co-presenting. This training is built from the same materials I train with, sharpened by what hundreds of trainees have brought back from their real caseloads. Expect a conversational room, an attachment-focused lens, and application you can use with your Tuesday clients.

Storie Stinger, LCSW

Storie is co-presenting some sessions throughout the day. She holds a master's degree from BYU and a bachelor's from Weber State University, with extensive experience in EMDR, neurofeedback, and neurodiversity, including ADHD and the autism spectrum, plus maternal mental health and parenting. She also works with fellow therapists on their own burnout and healing.

Fully live and interactive, not a stream in the corner. Questions welcome from both rooms all day. Camera on is welcome and never required.

EMDRIA Credits

This program is approved for 6 EMDRIA Credits under EC Program Approval No. 23041-02. EMDRIA Credits are awarded for live participation only, in person or on Zoom. Watching the replay does not earn EMDRIA Credits. Purple Sky Consulting is approved by the EMDR International Association to offer EMDRIA Credit for this program. The provider maintains responsibility for the program.

Eligibility for EMDRIA Credits is restricted to those who have completed an EMDRIA-Approved Basic EMDR Training. The content of this program is consistent with the EMDRIA Definition of EMDR. The program is listed on the EMDRIA events calendar.

NBCC

This program is offered for 6.0 NBCC clock hours. Purple Sky Consulting has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 7765. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. Purple Sky Consulting is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.

Attendance and eligibility

Participants must have completed the full EMDR basic training in order to attend. Full attendance is required to receive CE credit; partial credit is not available. EMDRIA Credits are for live participation only, in person or on Zoom. Replay viewing does not carry EMDRIA Credits, though it does qualify for NBCC clock hours.

Recording

The full day is recorded so that registrants can receive the 30-day replay. Participant questions asked aloud in either room may appear in the recording.

Questions

Who is this for?

EMDR-trained clinicians at any stage. If you finished basic training recently, the morning re-grounds you and the afternoon stretches you. If you trained years ago, the whole day is the tune-up. Completion of the full EMDR basic training is required to attend.

Do I need to have trained with you?

No. The alumni rate is for our graduates, but the standard rate is open to any clinician who has completed the full EMDR basic training.

What if I can't attend live on September 25?

Register anyway and watch the replay within 30 days. EMDRIA Credits are for live participation only, so the replay does not earn them, but it does qualify for NBCC clock hours. Details come with your confirmation email.

How do the CEs work?

The day is offered for 6 EMDRIA Credits (EC Program Approval No. 23041-02) and 6.0 NBCC clock hours. EMDRIA Credits are awarded for live participation only, in person or on Zoom, and require completion of an EMDRIA-Approved Basic EMDR Training. Full attendance is required; partial credit is not available. Certificate instructions come with your confirmation and again after the event.

Do these credits count for my Utah license?

Yes. Utah folded its mental health licensing rules into one rule, R156-60e, effective January 1, 2026. Under R156-60e-402.1, social workers, CMHCs, MFTs, and substance use disorder counselors need 40 hours per two-year renewal cycle at a master's degree or higher, and a course qualifies when it is approved, conducted, or sponsored by an accredited institution of higher education, a government agency, a professional association involved in clinical mental health therapy, or a mental health agency. This day is approved by EMDRIA and offered as a seminar, so it qualifies on both counts. Attending in person or live on Zoom is synchronous, which Utah does not cap. The replay is asynchronous learning, capped at 10 hours per renewal cycle. Your certificate carries every item R156-60e-402.1(3)(e) requires: your name, provider, instructor, date, title, hours, objectives, and format. DOPL's plain-language version is in its qualifying continuing education guidelines. These are general hours, not your ethics or suicide prevention hours.

Utah psychologists renew under a separate rule, R156-61-403: 48 hours per cycle, unlimited hours for seminars and conferences, and internet or distance learning capped at 18 hours and required to be APA recognized. Plan on attending live.

Is this the Utah EMDR Summit?

No. The Summit has moved to spring 2027 so we can give it the room it deserves. This refresher is a single-trainer deep dive in the fall slot.
